Information for Referring Attorneys

At Harris Schwartz, our personal injury firm, we serve clients in Nevada, California and Utah from offices in Las Vegas. Our attorneys have successfully handled a broad range of challenging cases involving serious injury and wrongful death, obtaining large settlements and verdicts for our clients through skilled and aggressive representation.

We welcome contacts from referring attorneys

Many of our cases are referred to us by lawyers who do not handle personal injury or contingent fee cases, or who do not have the necessary time, expertise or capital resources to handle a particular case properly. We pay referral fees

Harris Schwartz regularly pays referral fees to referring lawyers in accordance with the Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Nevada. The Rules state that a division of the fee may be made under the following circumstances:

• The division is in proportion to the services performed by each lawyer or, by written agreement with the client, each lawyer assumes joint responsibility for the representation
• The client is advised in writing of and does not object to the participation of all the lawyers involved
• The total fee is reasonable

Local counsel, co-counsel and out of state counsel

In addition to handling cases we receive from referring attorneys and serving as local counsel and co-counsel within Nevada, our firm accepts cases outside of Nevada. We frequently need experienced attorneys in other states, including California and Utah, for referrals or as co-counsel in our out-of-Nevada cases. Through collaboration with local lawyers on our out-of-state cases, our attorneys provide our clients with the benefits of those lawyers' familiarity with local courts and local contacts and reduce our clients' expenses from travel costs.
