Las Vegas Attorneys: Social Security Disability Claims

You have dutifully contributed to the Social Security system for years. Yet, when you suffer a disabling injury and the time comes to draw from those benefits, recovering the benefits you deserve can be challenging. In fact, many initial claims for Social Security disability benefits are denied. When faced with the rigorous review process of the Social Security Administration (SSA), it is beneficial to have an experienced attorney on your side.

Harris & Harris Lawyers, is a reputable Las Vegas law firm that is known for helping injured clients and clients who are in need of quality legal advice. We serve clients in Nevada, California and Utah. If you would like to discuss your Social Security disability claim with a member of our firm, please contact our office to arrange a free and confidential consultation.

Am I eligible for SSD or SSI benefits?

If you have suffered an injury, medical condition or disability which renders you incapable of working for more than one year, you may be capable of recovering Social Security disability benefits.

  • Social Security Disability (SSD/SSDI): People who have worked enough in recent years (generally, at least five out of the previous 10 years) may be eligible for SSD benefits.
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI): People who have not worked in previous years may not be eligible for SSD benefits. However, they may be capable of recovering month SSI benefits. However, SSI is a needs-based government program, meaning applicants must be income eligible in order to recover benefits.

SSD Claims and Appeals

In order to maximize your chances for success, it is imperative that your application for Social Security Disability (SSD) benefits be complete. We work with clients to obtain full medical documentation of their injuries. When necessary, we are capable of working closely with our client's doctors and other medical professionals to ensure that their documentation is as detailed and accurate as possible.

In many cases, our client has been injured or become disabled because of an accident or act of negligence. We thoroughly review your case to determine if additional remedies are available through workers' compensation claims or personal injury claims.

You pay nothing unless we recover compensation on your behalf
